Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do you offer in-person sessions?
Not at this time. All of my counseling sessions are offered online only through a secure and confidential video platform. This allows you to access therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own home. I plan to have an East Texas office space in the near future where I can offer in-person sessions to clients.
2. Who do you work with?
I work with children, teens, young adults, parents, couples, and adults. I especially enjoy working with teens and young adults, but I am equipped to work with individuals across all age spans.
3. What concerns do you help with?
I provide support for a variety of challenges, including:
Trauma & intergenerational trauma
Anxiety & depression
ADHD & focus struggles
Relationship issues & family dynamics
Childhood experiences that still impact you today
4. What therapy approaches do you use?
I draw from several evidence-based and client-centered approaches:
Trauma-Informed Counseling
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Parts Work (Inner Parts/Ego-State Therapy)
Narrative Therapy
Client-Centered Therapy & Unconditional Positive Regard
Each session is tailored to your unique needs, and therapy is always collaborative.
5. How long are sessions and how often will we meet?
Sessions are typically 45–50 minutes. Most clients meet weekly or biweekly, depending on their needs and goals. Together, we’ll decide what schedule works best for you.
6. How much does counseling cost?
My standard session fee is $100. I also offer a sliding scale ($40–$100) based on household income, because I believe therapy should be as accessible as possible.
7. Do you accept insurance?
At this time, I do not bill insurance directly. I only accept private pay. Through my sliding scale option, services are financially accessible despite not taking insurance.
8. How do I get started?
It’s simple:
Fill out the contact form or email me at doneicook@doneicookcounseling.com.
I’ll respond to learn more about what you’re looking for.
If we’re a good fit, I’ll send you intake paperwork and schedule your first session.
9. What if I need to cancel a session?
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged a fee.
10. What if I’m in crisis?
If you are experiencing a crisis, please call 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or 911 for immediate emergencies. I do not provide crisis services through this platform.
